NRSVue Bible Translation

For the past few years, you have opted to leave the NRSVue out of Easy Worship. However, now the NRSV is being discontinued, both in print and digital versions. Can you still legally license NRSV to us? Will you be replacing it with NRSVue? Year after year, your response is that you are focusing on the new version of Easy Worship instead and are seeing what interest there is for NRSVue. But it seems a little more urgent now with this news. Some of your competitors have already eliminated NRSV, stating they cannot legally offer the license.

Thank you for your thoughtful question regarding the NRSV and the potential inclusion of the NRSVue in EasyWorship.

As previously mentioned, all of our development resources are currently fully committed to the upcoming release of an entirely new version of EasyWorship. As you might imagine, integrating a new Bible translation into the platform is a substantial undertaking. It requires coordination with the publisher for licensing, as well as considerable technical and administrative work to incorporate the translation properly into our software.

Regarding the NRSV, we remain under a valid licensing agreement, and to date, the publisher has not notified us of any changes or discontinuation of that agreement. Should that situation change, we will, of course, comply with any updates to our licensing terms.

We absolutely recognize the importance of having access to the scriptures that matter most to our users. While we haven’t yet committed to adding the NRSVue, we are actively monitoring user interest and have initiated new internal discussions about how we can better support our users in this area moving forward.

We truly appreciate your patience and your passion for using EasyWorship in your ministry.
